2015 PP SCHOLARSHIP PROJECT
DONASYON PARA SA EDUKASYON

PP SCHOLARS FROM DE LA SALLE LIPA
PP SCHOLARS FROM DAMASCUS FOUNDATION

Calling out to our PUSONG PINOY HEROES across the globe! It's that time again to step up and help sponsor the education of our highly-intelligent, yet financially-challenged elementary, high school and college SCHOLARS from Damascus Foundation of Bulacan and De La Salle Lipa of Batangas, Philippines.

Each of the 17 elementary students we support, attends a nearby public school from Damascus Foundation. The P5,000 annual scholarship per child, helps to pay for a scholar's uniforms and meal for the entire school year.

Our high school and college students, who attend the prestigious school of De La Salle Lipa, need P7,500 each to help to pay for their education.

We invite you to help us to complete the P220,000/ $5,000 we need to make sure that all of the students can continue their education this year. Any amount of donation will be of tremendous help.

If you would like more information about our scholarship project, please contact JOCELIN ARANA OLIVIER, Pusong Pinoy's Director of Scholarship at pusongpinoyorg@gmail.com or click below to make a donation:

PP HERO BABA GOZUM'S
BIRTHDAY BLOWOUT AT PSAC

This year, our Pusong Pinoy Hero from Hong Kong, BABA GOZUM, wanted to celebrate his birthday the PP way by organizing a birthday party attended by over 100 kids and their families, at the Parish Social Action Committee (PSAC) in Banay Banay, Lipa City, Batangas. The kids experienced a fun-filled day with delicious meal, games, and prizes.

PSAC has been a PP recipient since 2009.  Its mission is to make a difference in the lives of the less fortunate in the Philippines, not only by helping them with their needs, but encouraging a positive outlook on life.  PSAC serves the community of San Vicente Ferrer Parish in Banay-Banay, Lipa City in Batangas.  Special thanks to PSAC's President LIZA DE JESUS and all the volunteers for organizing this party and for their tireless acts of kindness and generosity to the underprivileged kids in their community.

If you would like to celebrate your birthday the PP way, please email CTL Jay Martinez or TL Carol Vega at pusongpinoyorg@gmail.com.

PUSONG PINOY SUMMER READING CAMP

Pusong Pinoy is supporting an exciting Summer Reading Camp initiative to improve "readership" in Pit-ao Elementary School in San Clemente, Tarlac.  This camp is a wonderful community effort which will run during the school holidays.  Thanks to CLAUDIA TOLEDO, School Head, who paved the way to make this happen. The teachers of Pit-ao ES created an interesting two-week reading module with the aim of uplifting reading proficiency in their school. The PTA offered support by volunteering to cook delicious meals daily for the 80 children who are attending the camp.

We would like to thank PP Hero MAYO MUNAR, who initiated fundraising in Hong Kong. His aim was to raise awareness of the plight of children in the Philippines and to raise funds to support these children. Thank you to all the Hong Kong Heroes who offered support. You are all incredible!

The funds were used to provide groceries and other items to support the Reading Camp. Other items from donors were also handed over on the same day.  Thank you also to all Pusong Pinoy Superheroes who made this exciting initiative possible! Together, we can make a difference.

LITTLE LIGHTS' MESSAGE TO PUSONG PINOY

Little Lights shared these photos to Pusong Pinoy with this message:

"Thank you so much, Pusong Pinoy, for all the educational materials! This meant a lot to our ministry work for these children. God bless you for all that you do to help our marginalized children in the Philippines!"

Little Lights Ministry has been a Pusong Pinoy recipient since 2010.  It planted its humble beginnings in February 2010 at Sitio Tawi-Tawi along the riverbanks of the Pasig-Cainta boundary where drug dealing, drinking sprees, gambling, and street brawls are a way of life. Out of this concern, Little Lights was born. As the ministry continued its mission, they came across out-of-school and never-schooled children, which led them to start "Learning Lessons," a progressive Montessori-type learning system for ages 2 to 15 years. Little Lights currently serves more than 1,000 underprivileged Filipino children and their love ones to have a better way of life.

Deeply inspired and motivated by the works of Little Lights Ministry, Pusong Pinoy has been sponsoring their feeding and learning program since 2010. Click HERE to read about other PP projects for Little Lights Ministry.
